Russo serves as an "outsourced IT director" for small businesses, primarily in the creative sector, allowing CEOs to focus on growth rather than Google Workspace accounts or device management.

Moving Away from Jamf

Operating in the creative space means managing a fleet of primarily Apple devices. While Russo previously used Jamf Pro, he found the dual cost and management overhead of having separate identity and MDM solutions counterintuitive.

  • Zero-Touch Deployment: For clients with distributed teams, laptops are mailed directly to new hires. Upon first boot, JumpCloud automatically configures FileVault, screen settings, and security policies.
  • SOC 2 Compliance: JumpCloud integrates with compliance tools like Vanta to ensure devices meet strict security standards (patching, password requirements, encryption) automatically.

Russo highlights that the rapid pace of JumpCloud’s feature releases ensures his boutique MSP remains on the cutting edge. "There's so much stuff coming out from JumpCloud that it's hard to keep up," he notes, confident that the platform will scale alongside his clients' evolving needs.
